Is it me or is this summers transfer speculation becoming just more pathetic than usual? Every website or newspaper you read is full of 'An insider said...' or a 'Source was quoted...' and even occasionally a ''Onlooker commented...''
Now it is probably me just being picky but If I ran a newspaper or website populated with these creative types I would demand either the naming of these sources or consequences if these stories that they stand by (hence publishing) turn out to be complete bullshit. How often have we seen United linked to every single player that was born over 16 years ago with two legs? How many more stories must we read about a certain Argentine CB not being sold for a penny under the £35 million release clause...it seems to be several per day. Is creative journalism dead? If you don't have any stories go looking for them for Christ sake...approach a player or manager for an interview...do something other than bloody lie to fill column inches. And you, the editors should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing this obvious crap into your website/newspapers in the first place without any proof or basis of fact what-so-ever.
Tell you what, an onlooker contacted the Raving Red blog yesterday to inform me of the sporting editor of the Sun newspaper who was seen publicly engaging in a sexual encounter with a 32 stone hairy homeless man in Hyde Park. A source inside the Sun's newsdesk told Raving Red ''He loves it, he f*cking loves hobo's and the smell of urine. It seems to work him up even more and even prostitute hens have seen less cock''. An insider of the Hyde Park tramp community told Raving Red blog ''Spare change? yeah he comes here alot. He loves the clockwork cucumber inserted firmly up his rear entrance he does...spare change?''...see how easy it is to make shit up? Have standards ffs and make your ''journalists'' accountable for the crap they publish!

Having watched the England women ''play'' in their FIFA women's world cup last night I did get enraged by the Columbian keeper escaping a clear red card. This was a make-or-break match and a lot was riding on it, so it's not as if it was a meaningless women's friendly. A female England player must have considered the ball was her fella's head and struck it with venom up field, it was latched onto by her fellow player who ran one on one with the Columbian keeper...the keeper sprinted out to meet the attack and 40 yards out, missed the ball and hacked down the England striker for a clear red card. Last 'man' rule states she had to go. Cue the female ref who finally waddled their to hand out a yellow card....a yellow card.
Male ref's are just as bad, although the decisions I have seen in this Woman's world cup makes me appreciate them more because their female counterparts have been f*cking disgusting and without a clue...but as managers are forced to give interviews after games then why aren't refs? Why shouldn't referee's whose decisions can cost teams games and managers their jobs, be forced to explain their decisions after the games? Why shouldn't the ''ref'' from last nights game be asked why she chose to blatantly ignore the FIFA rules and issue a yellow for a clear red card incident?
Ref's get slated too easily, they face a tough job with so much criticism during the match from the crowds, but they are protected far too much afterwards as well when they have the opportunity to explain themselves. I certainly would be interested to hear an official say they had their line of vision blocked, their assistant had a better view so he took their opinion on the incident etc etc which makes controversial decisions more easier to take. Last nights however was down to one thing - pure idiotic incompetence.

When we were forced to sign Depay early due to Liverpool laughingly believe they could compete with us in the transfer market, we were told that our transfer business would be concluded early and not left late like last year. Van Gaal wanted everything in place so we could go on tour together...awww...isn't that nice?
As of today, June 18th, Depay aside because our hand was forced, we still have no new signings. Right Back after Right Back are joining club 'A' and club 'B' while this summers free transfers have all gone on and joined new clubs or renewed their contracts. There were some cracking free transfers this summer and what with Champions League football and our injury record...we could really have done with picking up one or two. We are daily linked with Nicolas Otamendi, yet we do know he has a release clause and Valencia will not release him for a penny under that tag...so why haven't we met that price? Why aren't we preparing to meet with his advisor/agent?
I am getting a tad worried that we might blow this summers huge war chest on second or third choice targets because we have pissed around too much, as we usually do and have done - Ronaldinho anyone? But if I do see Tony Valencia starting as our only RB despite having another £150 million to spend and brushing off Rafael, then I will be preparing the 'VAN GAAL OUT' banners.
